Teachings/1 Enoch 15–16; 69:12

Spirits, demons, and the noon-day smiting

What remains when a giant dies

When the giants are killed, their flesh perishes and their spirits remain, because they were born of holy ones and of women. These spirits are the demons of later chapters: homeless, hungry, and still taught. Kasdeja adds the smitings of embryo, soul, serpent, and noon.

What was given away

  • The origin of demons as the dead Nephilim’s spirits
  • How such spirits smite, possess, and sicken
  • Serpent-bites and their double as poison and writing
  • Noon-day terror and the unborn as targets

Why the book calls it forbidden

It weaponizes the Watchers’ own children. The fathers teach the management of the ghosts they have made.

What became of it

This is the Enochic demonology behind later Second Temple and Christian talk of unclean spirits. They are not fallen angels; they are the orphans of a mixed descent.
