Existence/1 Enoch 6:4–6; Deuteronomy 3:8–9
The campus of the descent
Mount Hermon
They descend on Hermon in the days of Jared and name it from ḥerem — curse, ban, devoted thing. The mountain is a courtroom, a dormitory, and a brand.
Shemihazah will not act alone. Two hundred bind themselves with curses. The mountain receives the name Hermon because they swore on it. Deuteronomy still knows the mountain’s other names — Senir of the Amorites, Sirion of the Sidonians — and Batariel’s host, in this codex, treats those names as spare keys.
Hermon is the anti-Sinai. A peak, a host, a law. But the law is an oath of trespass, the host has deserted, and the peak looks toward Bashan, later the country of Og and the Rephaim. Geography remembers.
Enoch is not on Hermon when he is taken; he is somewhere the Watchers can still send to. The mountain is theirs. Heaven answers from above it, not from it.
