Existence/1 Enoch 17–36; 41; 60; 76
The authorized tour
Storehouses of the world
Enoch is shown the cabinets: winds, hail, dew, lightning, the prison of stars, the tree of wisdom, the garden, the mountain of God, the places of the dead. This is the world as a house with locked rooms.
The Watchers taught weather, stars, and earth as techniques. Enoch is shown the same domains as rooms in a house he may look into and not rearrange. Storehouses imply a steward. The four archangels are staff. The Watchers were staff who went downstairs.
He sees a waste with fallen stars already bound, seven of them, like great mountains burning. He sees the tree of wisdom whose fruit the holy ones eat, and which is not the tree the first pair took. He sees the mountain of God with a throne that no Watcher of the two hundred is sitting on.
Existence, in this tour, is spatialized ethics. There is a place for everything, including a place for those who left their place. Geography is judgment that has already been built.
