Signs of the sun
Gates of the great light, turned into a face
Shamsiel teaches the signs of the sun. 1 Enoch 72 then gives the authorized six gates, the 364-day year, and a luminary that is a lamp, not a god. The Watcher’s version adds worship and political use.

- The six gates of rising and setting
- Solstice and noon as courts
- The sun as a person to be named and paid
- Heat as a siege-engine against a field
Why the book calls it forbidden
Genesis 1 demythologized the lamps. Shamsiel remythologized them. The crime is theological before it is scientific.
What became of it
Solar cults, royal sun-ideology, and the long fight over calendars (364 vs. lunisolar) all pass through this office.
